The Garmin Mourne Skyline Mountain-Trail Race is a 35k race, incorporating 3,370m (11,057ft) of accumulative ascent, set in the heart of the scenic Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland.  The event, which will take place on Saturday 22nd October 2016, is brought to you by NiRunning (Northern Ireland Running), Northern Ireland's most popular running website, with assistance from the Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association (NIMRA).

The Garmin Mourne Skyline MTR is part of the Skyrunning UK Series (governed by the International Skyrunning Federation), alongside races in England, Scotland and Wales, and has attracted attention from athletes all over the world.  The race starts and finishes in the seaside town of Newcastle, County Down.  Competitors will enjoy magnificent scenery on what can only be described as a tough but rewarding course.

The Garmin Mourne Skyline Granite Trail Race (GTR) - Uphill Only:

As part of the Skyrunning UK weekend, we will also hold a night event on Friday 21st October 2016. This will be called 'The GTR' (The Granite Trail Race); The GTR will be a 2 mile UPHILL only race (incorporating approximately 300m/1,000ft of ascent), starting in Newcastle (County Down) and finishing at the Quarry, located at the top of the Granite Trail.
